Today’s Lesson: Being Bruised to be a Blessing
Have you ever had an accident when you hurt yourself? At first glance, there is barely any evidence it happened, so you don’t pay it any mind. A few hours later, you discover that the accident has left a mark or maybe a big bruise. Until you noticed the scar, you never really realize how bad it hurt, how much pain it caused or how uncomfortable it made you until you had that visual. Doesn’t feel good right? If that’s not your story, maybe you can relate to walking outside, driving in a hurry, running pass or just casually watching someone who is soliciting your help by asking, requesting or better yet begging for your help. Did you do anything about it? Did you sympathize with them? Did you roll your eyes in disgust? Did you pretend they weren’t there and ignored them? Did you say to yourself “Look I don’t have anything to give anybody”? I think we all can testify to one of the above scenarios. However, can we ask ourselves this question and give a truthful answer? “Do we mind being bruised to be a blessing”?
