Word of the Day (2-28-12) by Obiamaka Melifonwu

Good Morning Everyone

Today is Wednesday February 28th, 2012

The word of the day comes from my sister in Christ, Obiamaka Melifonwu

Joshua 10:12-14
12 On the day the LORD gave the Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed to the LORD in front of all the people of Israel. He said,
“Let the sun stand still over Gibeon,
and the moon over the valley of Aijalon.”

13 So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies.
Is this event not recorded in The Book of Jashar? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky, and it did not set as on a normal day.14 There has never been a day like this one before or since, when the LORD answered such a prayer. Surely the LORD fought for Israel that day!

Have you ever felt that you were running out of time? What you asked or needed from God seemed so far away and or didn’t come quick enough? Since we are earthly beings who operate in time, every now and then we tend to grow weary; worrying about the things we want or need from God in the time that we need it. I want to encourage you to never grow weary knowing that we serve a God who controls all things!  We can rest assure that God is not bound/limited by neither time nor space, why, because He is ETERNAL!
Joshua prayed that God would stop the process of time during this battle against their enemies. God heeded Joshua’s pray request, the earth stood still for a day and the Israelites were victorious over their enemies. It wasn’t that Joshua was telling God what to do and how to do it, but it was Joshua’s FAITH in a God who could do all things, including what seemed to be the impossible.  This faith activated or caused God to respond and take heed to Joshua.  His faith rested in knowing that God was the one fighting for the Israelites and not by their own power.
Understand that we must not grow weary; instead know that no matter the circumstance or how time feels like its closing in on us that God is fighting for us! We should not allow time to dictate when, where, or how, because we aren’t limited by time if we serve an eternal God! Activate your faith in the one who controls all things, Jesus Christ, who is acting on your behalf.
Romans 8:28
28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
God Bless!!!

Have a wonderful, blessed, productive, stress free day!
