Word of the Day (1-25-12)

Good Morning Everyone

Today is Wednesday January 25, 2012

The word of the day comes from Colossians 3:23-24

23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

My Interpretation

I have been watching a lot of motivational videos lately on becoming successful, being driven and getting things done to the best of your ability. One of the videos talks about there is no magic potion or mystical circumstances that allow some people to be successful while others fail. The video talks about the concept of productivity. Applying the most amount of effort to the best of your ability for the allotted time you have. People who are successful realize that in order to be successful, every facet of our life needs to be treated like a multi million dollar opportunity. This means you have to treat watching dishes the same way you would presenting before the CEO of a company to take your business proposal. What is your mindset going in? Do you believe your time is precious and everything you do deserves your very best?

On top of that I just watched my quarterback who was asked a simple question in which he asked honestly within what he believed his own ability was get blown into a media frenzy during the course of this NFL season. Thankfully he backed up what he said with actions and is actually one game away from hoisting his second super bowl in 4 years. Thank you Eli. But honestly watching that this was dropped in my spirit this morning to share on my twitter and Facebook pages. Don’t wait for someone to question if your elite do what you do at an elite level and your actions will dictate that you are elite.

So you are probably wondering what does this have to do with our scripture today. Good question. God EXPECTS excellence from us, after all, we are created in His image and God ONLY does excellence. He wants us to treat everything we do as though we were presenting it to Him. When our mindset thinks like that, we will want to do the very best that we possibly can in all areas of our life. Minute tasks are no longer minute because we realize everything we do is somehow helping us to become the man or woman of God that He intended we be. I have been looking a lot lately at motivational videos and I can really see the natural and spiritual in alignment. No matter what you do in life, you should want to give it your all. God says you were faithful over a few things I will make you a ruler over many. Why would God give you an opportunity to do great things when you refuse to do the little things right? Today make up in your mind to do your best ALWAYS!

Have a wonderful, blessed, productive, stress free day!
